An international trading company based in the City of London, requires an experienced, confident shipping executive to provide timely and well executed support to the trading divisions whiole managing a team of 6 shipping clerks. This role will be a primary point of contact for customers and will liaise on any queries or issues in addition to taking responsibility for commodity shipments.
Duties will include:
• Arranging customer call offs, shipments and deliveries and handling relevant documentation such as invoices and letters of credit
• Supporting accounts receivable in managing customer accounts
• Paying for purchases in accordance with the group quality system and company guidelines
• Passing service charge invoices to the accounts payable department and support them in managing vendor account
• Inventory management, monitoring inventory for items and stock
• Liaising with traders and purchasers upon requirements
• Running reports to check the status of contracts, orders, shipments, invoices
• Logging & handling of customer complaints
• Handling credit notes / return orders
• Samples & analysis related to grading of suppliers, purchase/sales specifications
• Obtaining warehouse & freight rates
The ideal candidate:
• A good team player with strong communication skills and attention to detail
• Good academic background
• Relevant shipping related experience in a management position
• Previous customer contact in B2B
• Experience working with ERP systems; e.g. Navision, SAP, JD Edwards
