■Purpose:
In order to enhance stringent and timely risk management capabilities, Mizuho reinforces risk management function on a global basis.
As part of the Head Office Risk Management Division, Manager will manage structured products, new financial product process and Basel ll issue for the European portfolio.
■Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
1)Conducting valuation and analysis of structured financial products, reporting to weekly portfolio management committee (including secretariat work)
2)Coordinate various valuation methodology with Head Office related divisions in timely manner
3)Construction of complex quantitative models to assess credit and/or market risk of new structured products
4)Conducting research into new financial products and new regulations in the worldwide financial industry
5)Arrangements for London Branch New Product Forum (including secretariat work)
6)Data analysis and reporting to Head Office in terms of Basel ll regulation
■Compliance Responsibilities:
General banking regulation set by Japan FSA, UK FSA and Basel Accord.
■Key performance indicators:
•Quality of valuation and modelling in terms of appropriateness of assessment of credit and/or market risk
•Timely market research and analysis regarding new financial products and new regulations in the worldwide financial industry
•Effective working relationship with Front divisions, Credit divisions, Relevant Head Office divisions
•Basel ll regulatory reporting in an accurate and timely manner
■Key Risk Indicators:
•Quality and timeliness of valuation methodology
•Accuracy of portfolio valuations
•Accuracy and timeliness of Basel ll regulatory reporting

2) THE PERSON
■Experience:
•Understanding of credit and/or market risk analysis techniques relating to financial structured products (essential)
•Understanding valuation methodologies and experience of valuation for financial structured products including synthetic ABS CDO (essential)
•Understanding and experience of stress testing for financial products (essential)
•Understanding and experience of JFSA regulatory requirements (essential)
•Experience of portfolio management methodologies (desirable)
■Qualifications and Training: (academic, professional and/or banking qualifications; training courses completed or accreditations – specify whether essential or desirable)
•Bachelor Degree (essential)
•Statistical background(desirable)
•Completion of courses on basic credit risk management (desirable)
■Job skills and knowledge:
•Professional knowledge of valuation methodologies for financial structured products including Intex model (essential)
•Professional knowledge of stress testing for financial products (essential)
