Benefit
A well-established trading company in food related products seeks a Trader’s Assistant to support their commercial trading team.
Ideally you will have a good grounding in core shipping documentation and duties as well as exposure to day to day logistics process.

This is a permanent role to start as soon as possible.

Core duties

Contracts Administration and Maintenance
Issuing call offs and shipping instructions to suppliers
Logging customer call offs on ERP (i.e. checking on prices, whether within agreed period, stock levels, Credit check if spot/prompt)
Customer/supplier liaison
Forward planning/position analysis/reporting - advising anomalies to traders, pricing/cost exercises for new business tenders
Stock allocations for logistics and overall responsibility of maintaining the trading position to support trader in sales

Shipping core duties
Issuance shipment F-File from start to finish
Import / export documentation addressing issues/amendments to supplier
Issuing instructions to agents, shipping lines and warehouses
Following up with supplier payments, trade finance (collections /LCs where applicable), monitoring ETAs, advising of any major changes to trader which may impact supply to clients

Logistics core duties
Logging customer's multi products call offs
Running daily delivery report, arranging all ex-stock deliveries and releases
Issuance of invoices/credit notes
Processing of out-turns on ERP (re-cleaning, roasting etc)
Adhoc spot purchases (F-File start to finish)
Checking/ approving haulage and warehousing bills
Custom clearance ex bonded stock, overall stock control looking into (with monthly audit) and 'closing' any stock discrepancy issues

Ideal candidate

Previous administrative experience in shipping and logistics
Ideally looking for someone with a couple of years’ experience in a trading environment who can train on the job
Interested in pursuing a career in international logistics/shipping/commodity trading
Some knowledge of shipping documentation / procedures etc.
Someone who can commute to North London
