International pet food manufacturer seeks a UK Sales Specialist to support the expansion of their UK business function.
The main objective of this position is to maintain and build long-term relationships with retail stores in the UK and ensure quality consistency across each individual location.

Initially the role will focus chiefly on the specialist channels across independent pet shops across the UK with a later focus on major retailers and key accounts in Spring 2021.

The role will be up to 75% travel within the UK

Core Duties:
• Locating and approaching potential new clients in the retail sector
• Retail sales reporting and analysis
• Consumer and market research project execution and analysis
• Review sales forecasts
• Coordinate meetings and arrange samples
• Participate in expositions related to the Pet Food Industry
• Preparation of long-term brand plans and marketing presentations
• Development and execution of marketing plans with the Sales Manager
• Keep full and proper books of account and records, submit sales reports regularly according the timelines of the Sales Manager
• Regular evaluation of market and consumer trends
• Communicate with clients on a regular basis
• Maximize sales and profitability in the region
• Set and meet sales targets for individual locations

Ideal candidate:
• At least 3+ years of experience in B2B retail sales
• Experience in pet food would be ideal but other FMCG sales would be considered
• Willing to travel up to 75 percent of the time
• Strong work ethic, high energy level, interpersonal skills, motivation and enthusiasm
• Excellent communication skills and strong commitment
• Experience in dealing with distributors
• The ability to work independently is essential
• Educated to Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
