Assistant Manager Compliance and Internal Control - Paris (Ref: HM43378)

International finance company seeks an experienced risk, compliance and internal control professional to join their busy Paris office.
The role is a key member in the Administration team that provides support in the management of Internal Controls, Regulatory and Legal Compliance activities. The role works closely with European HQ departments, Tokyo HQ and external partners.

Key Responsibilities


• Communicate with external professionals to maintain compliance and regulatory knowledge base
• Prepare the regulatory reporting; communicate with ACPR, Banque de France and other regulators and submit them on schedule and report it to EHQ/THQ as required.
• Provide support with compliance and regulatory activities as directed by management
• Support with the research and analyse changes in regulatory and legislative requirements
• Coordinate with external professionals to manage company’s AML activities properly and support the MLRO

Internal Controls:

• Be an Expert on the company Regulations and keep these regulations updated, based upon new requirements and changes of regulatory circumstances
• Support the Internal Audit process by liaising with EHQ and THQ
• Provide support on the reviews and updates to the Business Continuity Plans
• Assist with the Request of Approval process as directed by management
• Support Line manager to maintain appropriate level of information security requirements/guidelines
• Provide administrative support including general affairs and office facilities.
• Conduct internal controls (including self-audit) and implement/improve the control process

Legal Support:

• Liaise with legal advisors to clarify legal/contractual matters as required
• Support management in Company Secretarial related work


• Lead or support on company projects as required
• Build and maintain working relationships with external compliance and regulatory partners
• Travel as required to perform business activities
• Perform other related tasks as assigned by management and to meet business needs

Skills and Knowledge

• Strong analytical skills in facilitating collection and dissemination of regulatory requirements.
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and diplomacy skills, with a high comfort level in dealing with senior management, colleagues and advisors.
• Demonstrate initiative, attention to detail, multitasking ability, organisational skills and effective prioritization of workflow.
• Strong planning and organising skills
• Ability to execute against the strategy: drive results

Ideal candidate

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Risk, Compliance, Internal Controls or Legal Support.
• Financial Services experience is desirable
• Minimum Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Advanced proficiency in French and English (spoken and written) is required
