A large international financial services organisation is looking for a human resources advisor to join their busy London office. This is a 13-month maternity cover contract.
The Role
Deliver a proactive and flexible HR service by providing relevant and appropriate HR support to all employees, whilst driving best practice and ensuring compliance with all company procedures, documented policies and employment legislation. The role works closely with company teams in Europe, the European Headquarters (EHQ) and the Tokyo Headquarters (THQ).

Main Duties
•Ensure all appropriate policies, procedures and legal requirements are adhered to with clear audit trails and maintain all records in accordance with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
•Maintain the HR employee database on the HRIS, prepare and submit periodic management information reports (e.g., employee turnover report, absence reports, training completion reports etc) as required.
•Manage the payroll for all locations in Europe as directed and liaise with Finance to ensure all relevant information is submitted to them
•Ensure effective monitoring of sickness trends and remedial action is taken and to facilitate a proactive approach to absence management to ensure a smooth return to work
•Liaise and assist Line Managers with the recruitment by following agreed approval process, advertising vacancies and assisting with interviews as required.
•Manage the New Starter and Leaver process from end-to-end. Ensure that relevant documents are produced, internal processes are followed, and local legislative requirements are met. Liaise with the relevant departments to deliver on this.
•Ensure that new hires experience a creative and educational induction programme; generate a positive first impression for employees and emphasize the importance of the brand’s strategy in the culture.
•Strive for efficiency and ensure confidentiality, whilst continuously improving delivery of HR services to Managers and all employees, including:
•Providing first line support to Managers in all matters relating to HR
•Offering advice, arranging and supporting disciplinary and grievance hearings within policy, producing correspondence using standardised business formats.
•Respond to external reference requests, ensuring confidentiality of all written and verbal communication.
•Provide support in the development, delivery and management of learning and development programmes.
•Support the office locations in the management of health and safety programmes
•Manage internship programmes by liaising between Line Managers and local schools, language schools and European universities, as required.
•Assist in the development and implementation of employee recognition programmes
•Assist with project work as determined by the SVP of Human Resources and Corporate Services.
•Support the management of internal control process as required
•Be an ambassador for the brand, positively representing the company to both internal and external customers.
•Travel locally and internationally as required to perform business activities
•Perform other related tasks as assigned by management and to meet business needs as required
•Comply with policies and procedures

Ideal Candidate
•A sound understanding of the principles of good HR practice and some knowledge of employment law
•Excellent administrative and organizational skills
•Excellent communication skills, works effectively within a team, see the potential in others and understands the impact of their actions on colleagues
•Intermediate proficiency in MS Office package (Word, Excel, and Power Point)
•Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to persuade influence and, when appropriate, challenge with tact and diplomacy
•A relentless drive to improve performance and deliver outstanding results through new, innovative and more effective ways of working
•A creative and analytical thinking style, applying tenacity in the face of obstacles
•A pro-active approach to work and problem solving, and the ability to spot and deal with issues as they occur
•A high level of personal integrity, who displays respect and empathy for others and is consistent, open and honest
•Must have a clean credit history and no criminal record
•Previous experience in Human Resources required
•Experience in European HR preferred but not essential

Education or Certification
•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
•CIPD qualified or desire to qualify
•Advanced proficiency in English required
•Intermediate to advanced proficiency in French, German or Italian is preferred
