An international company based in the City of London is currently looking for a Japanese speaking Business Development Executive.
In this role you will be responsible for creating new business that contributes to solving social issues by capturing future industrial trends, leveraging the disruptive technologies from start-ups, digital transformation functionality and strategic local partnership.
The ideal candidate should have experience and knowledge in infrastructure (including the electricity/energy sector) Business travel to European countries is required for this role.
Understanding of Japanese culture and some Japanese skill will be preferred.

TYPE: Permanent, full-time Business Development Executive Role
WORKING HOURS: 9:00-17:00 from Monday to Friday
SALARY: £40-62K depending on experience, plus good benefits
START: ASAP
LOCATION: London (Hybrid 2 -3 days a week in the City of London Office.)

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• New business development activities especially in infrastructure (including electricity) sector
• Work closely with related external parties to promote new business development
• Work closely with internal parties including the Head Quarters in Japan
• Business travel to European countries is required (c. once per month)
• Initiate and lead cross-border business development
• Develop deal leads and manage projects through to completion whether that be investing, partnering, or acquiring new companies
• Interact closely with internal and external expert groups to gather industry and market information
• Develop new networks/contacts/customer base
• Interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practice-based solutions
• Lead others to solve complex problems and identify innovative solutions
• Act as an ambassador for the company internally and externally across the European region
• Shape and direct our departmental strategy in alignment with head office

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/PERSONAL QUALITIES OF THE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE:
• University educated with a preference for post-graduate qualification(s). This may include an MBA, CFA Institute qualifications or a post-graduate qualification in the following areas; Accounting, International Tax, Law, Finance and/or Economics
• Good understanding of new technology and innovation
• Able to work autonomously
• Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
• Comfortable challenging the status quo and engaging with management at all levels
• Demonstrate resilience to ensure the completion of tasks
• Able to tackle challenges and develop solutions to problems
• A business development mindset with the ability to take a wider view across industries
• Enjoys working in a demanding environment
• Results-oriented with a positive outlook and a clear focus on high quality deliverables

• MS Office – Proficient Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills

• Fluent English (essential) and Japanese language skills (preferred) as the role involves communicating with Tokyo HQ

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE EXPERIENCE:
• Experience and knowledge in infrastructure (including the electricity/energy sector)
• Relevant business development experience and/or experience of corporate development through creation of mid to long term strategic plans
• Experience of researching corporate development/investment opportunities and developing these into viable business
• Effective negotiation, persuasion skills and project management skills
• Experience working within a European and/or global remit in a corporate environment
