The Import Manager is responsible for operation management and strategy development of the Airfreight Import Department.
You will be responsible for adjusting and implementing Global and Regional import policies to achieve budget targets, measuring team performance and compliance, and managing the relationship with government agencies, clients, and vendors

WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday, flexible, Core times 9:00 – 16:30 (8 hours + 30 minutes break)
SALARY: €4,500 – 5,200 per month, depending on experience, plus good benefits

Import Manager Main Responsibilities:
<Strategic>
• Strategizing, planning, and enforcing the import activities as per the providers
and requirements of the clients.
• Adjust the import activities in the context of policy in consultation with the
Branch Manager.
• Signal trends and developments and provides advise accordingly.
• Translate and implement the management policy (strategy) for the import
department.
• Determining appropriate import requirements based on commodity and transport details and communicating with stakeholders pertaining to any aspect of the customers’ requirements
• Make sure products and service are provide at the best value for money.
<Operational>
• Collect monthly data and analyse by comparing with historical data.
• Forecast the quantities for the coming month and give explanations.
• Provide management information.
• Organize the department, work processes and procedures so that the work can
be performed optimally.
• Notice customers with (too) little turnover and signals to sales.
• Responsible for the quality and quantity level, the timeliness and efficiency of
work.
• Conduct and complete trade compliance planning for imports
<Managerial>
• Delegate and support to provide accurate customer support.
• Act proactively as an escalation point to facilitate a quality-based customer
• journey.
• Contribute to Team performance, transactional support and/or individual
• Process analysis in support of departmental goals.
• Organizing and leading meetings, both internally and external.
• Ensure compliance with Customs regulations and our Company's internal
compliance requirements
Import Manager Ideal Candidate:
• Have over 5 years of Airfreight import experience
• Solid understanding of custom regulations and documentation requirements
• Track record of analysing and advising KPI and financial performance of team
• Team management experience
• Ensure that work is carried out effectively, efficiently and according to the standard
• Ensure the right working conditions
• Signal bottlenecks in work processes
• Make proposals for more efficient working methods and methods
• Identify opportunities for improvement (process, quality, safety, costs)
