A highly successful international IT services and telecommunications organisation are looking for a talented Network Server Engineer to join their busy team in East London. The main purpose of this role is to design and implement monitoring systems for customer networks, services and applications all the time aiming to minimise cost, maximise revenue & profit. You will be required to give 2nd/3rd line support, customer support services, and support Solutions, Network Consulting & Planning, Pre-sales, other company divisions and sister companies
The role

• Provisioning, detailed planning, design and implementation of core systems and services, including hardware, software, servers and applications.
• Network element configuration including day-to-day service delivery.
• Migration planning and execution.
• Network and server implementation and optimization.
• Proof of concept testing and acceptance testing.
• Creation of handover documents, providing internal training as necessary.
• Development and implementation of new features and services.
• 2nd level troubleshooting with relation to company divisions and external customers if required & escalation contact (if necessary, outside of working hours)
• Documentation for implementation and modification.
• Project and service delivery schedule management.
• Periodical status report to your line manager.
• 2nd Line support for company website (external)

The Ideal Candidate

• ISP related server application. I.E. SMTP, DNS, HTTP, Radius, SNMP Monitoring & Traffic Mgmnt.
• Experience in monitoring applications such as icinga, nagios, solarwinds and others (opmanager)
• Facility Management, Network Cabling, Equipment Installation.
• Knowledge and proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio and Microsoft Outlook.
• Html and other web related coding skills and competencies
• Generic Routing, RIP, OSPF, and BGP4.
• Cisco command operation and configuration. CCNA Level
• X.21, V.35, G703/704, SONET/SDH, ATM/FR, Ethernet, MPLS, Optical Networking.
