Sales Manager – Automotive Lubricants (London, then the Netherlands)ref: CH41977

A global oil and energy company with worldwide operations now requires a confident lubricants sales person to join their small European Lubricants sales and business development team in an exciting opportunity.

The role will be based from the London office until early 2019, when it will transfer to the Netherlands and become a work from home role.
Applicants MUST be prepared to live in and work full time in London for at least 6 months from the start of employment.

The role will be focused on the OEM market for Benelux and some other Western European automotive manufacturer locations. In time, there is also scope for the role to also take on responsibility for the retail brands across this same broader region.
Further down the track, it is planned to open a Dutch subsidiary (likely Amsterdam), and it is envisaged this role will then become the head of that office.

Business trips to the UK and elsewhere in Europe are required.


ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Fluent business negotiation level English
• Proven EU experience in sales and marketing of automotive lubricants; ideally OEM, after-market oil products, or technical oil derivative automotive consumables – selling into automotive manufacturers and key distributor partners
• A university degree in automotive or chemical engineering, oil / lubricants R&D
• Very strong preference for a fluency in at least one of: Dutch, French, or German (in addition to English)

You will be a confident and charismatic self-starter with the strong commercial skills to proactively develop new business and seek out the potential of currently untapped business.
Possessing professional selling skills with an exceptional grasp of technical issues, you will also demonstrate effective time management and be able to influence and communicate successfully at all levels.

CORE DUTIES:
• Sales & marketing of lubricants to distributors and automotive OEMs across Europe & the Dutch domestic market
• Penetrate into new business segments and markets to expand the lubricants business
• Develop innovative sales proposition to maintain brand positioning
• Develop network of distributors to expand the current lubricants business across Europe
