Benefit
System Operation and Maintenance

Install and maintain the client’s firewall estate
Install, maintain and upgrade client’s network devices
Patch and upgrade the firewall suites including testing and verification following O/S and application level patches and hotfixes
Co-ordinate network security Service Requests
Verify design and implement changes
Being conversant with the latest network security thinking, technologies and security policies

Incident Management

Take ownership of network security related incidents and troubleshoot from first alert to resolution, to liaise with users and to co-operate with other team members and other internal teams, to liaise and take charge of vendors for incident resolution

Project Support

Conduct project activities to specific time lines and deliver network project tasks and objectives assigned to the team

Team Duties

Assist with the support and maintenance of all Network System Support duties including voice, desk/office moves and cabling

Preferably at least two of the following professional qualifications;

Cisco CCSP
CheckPoint CCSE
Palo Alto ACE

Preferably one of the Cisco associate level qualifications below:

Data
Voice
Data Centre
Design

ITIL or Cobit Foundation certified
To have worked as part of a network security team within a large multi-site critical network environment
Experience of firewall and security devices
Experience of supporting a blue chip financial sector network preferably covering the EMEA region
Network security skills to include; Checkpoint, Palo Alto and Cisco ASA firewall configuration, threat defence, trouble shooting, monitoring and reporting tools, threat defence architectures, security architectures, Network Address Translation, VPN technologies, authentication
Routing and switching skills to include; Layer 3 path control, IPv4 redistribution, EIGRP based solutions, OSPF based solutions, BGP based solutions, Layer 2 switching, VLAN’s, High availability, Multicast, NX OS
Maintain and monitor network security performance experience
Confident to troubleshoot a multi-vendor security network and able to drive problem resolution through the appropriate escalation channels
Being conversant with the latest network security thinking, technologies and security polices and able to evaluate and understand new products within the department’s scope
Excellent written and verbal skills, and must be able to document and articulate to others key issues in the infrastructure arena
Able to confidently participate in white board type design and review sessions
Customer facing skills
Relevant Health and Safety, safety standards and manual handling
Record keeping
