A leading worldwide developer, publisher and distributor of interactive entertainment for game consoles, PCs, handheld and wireless devices seeks a highly numerate and capable analyst to join their London office.

The main purpose of the role will be to deliver and maintain high-quality data provision and market insight for the EMEA Sales & Marketing team. You must also work with the company’s other international offices to ensure a consistent approach to data across regions.
Core functions include, but are not limited to: data management, business insights, and management reporting.

The role requires a process-oriented candidate with a proven ability to work with multiple stakeholders (both internal and external), and a keen attention to detail.

Core duties

Oversee sales & market data collection operations within European office
Manage cloud-based databases and champion increased engagement with insights tools across European and global sales & marketing teams
Support the Research & Planning Manager in implementation of new business insights tool (DOMO)
Work with first-party platforms and Japan analytics teams to ensure robust data pipelines into the European office
Create accessible sales and market data dashboards for senior management and business heads
Gather and consolidate pre-order and sell-through data from sales teams
Forecast sales and shipments for new titles based on pre-order trends
Liaise with the business operations team to obtain regular updates on inventory, stock builds and shipments
Work closely with USA and Japan analytics teams to ensure global consistency in data handling as much as possible
Produce weekly sales data feeds for industry market data partners
Maintain release schedule for upcoming company and competitor releases
Benchmark pricing for disc and digital products across EMEA region
Advise business on DLC best practice and post-launch monetisation
Keep global business teams updated on EMEA market trends and developments, with a focus on opportunity markets & digital distribution
Forecast key market metrics (digital sales ratio, hardware attach rates etc.)
Create regular market updates for global marketing teams
Identify key market competitors and analyse potential business models and marketing strategies
Assist creation of business reports for senior management - including state-of-market summaries, sales performance and market comparisons
Ad hoc data collection, report production and support for internal stakeholders
Build relationships with counterparts in US/Japan and European market data partners
Perform additional duties where required

Ideal candidate

Educated to degree level, ideally in a subject demonstrating numeracy and analytic ability, or similarly qualified by experience
2 to 3 years’ experience handling large data sets as part of a business support function
Extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Good understanding of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint
Experience with VBA, MySQL, SPSS desirable but not essential
Proven ability to think creatively when approaching new tasks or projects
A critical thinker, with demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills
Must be able to maintain absolute confidentiality regarding sensitive information
Ability to work across job levels and cultures
Strives to understand the customer context, and acts to promote good working relationships
Data Centric Analytical Experience
Experienced in gathering and consolidating data using from various sources and formats
Committed to improving efficiency of existing data processes
