Well known manufacturer of sports equipment is seeking a Promotion Representative.
This role will report to the Sales Manager of racquet sports for demo and other general promotional and sales-related activities and to the MD on matters relating to players’ contracts and Associations.

This role will suit someone who has a keen interest in tennis. You may be a tennis coach, a keen tennis player, an opinion leader or belong to a tennis association or similar. The position is NOT a sales role. You will be involved with arranging trial hitting events, perhaps playing tennis with others for trial purposes and/or promoting new products.

You will mainly work out of the office, with perhaps 1-2 days per week in the office, and will have use of a laptop, Company mobile and Company car. Working hours are Monday-Friday, 09.00 – 17.30.



Duties will include:

• Plan and execute a programme of consumer promotion days in association with retailers of the products, coaches and sales personnel

• Conduct retail staff seminars using formal presentation and on court play-test

• Visit key racquet sports retailers and provide staff training support within the first six weeks of new product shipments

• To be fully responsible for Company exhibitions at specified sponsored events. This to include exhibition stand logistics, retailer attendance and promotions activity, working alongside area sales personnel

• Liaise and build relationships with governing bodies (Associations), County Associations and other organisations to ensure opportunities are maximised in grass roots programmes, sponsorships, player support, and all initiatives developed by these associations and organisations

• To assist in the management of Company sponsored players, and plan a yearly programme of personal appearances to ensure every player fulfils their obligations to the company

• To be constantly up to date with all the key issues relating to the market and game. These to include being aware of potential players suitable to be sponsored by the company and submitting recommendations accordingly

• To contribute to the development of the Company’s promotional strategy through the submission of reports and Applications for Approval

• To run regional seminars for Company sponsored coaches to include instruction on product, presentation of company demo days, play-testing and reporting procedures

• To submit weekly activity reports. These reports to also include details of market and competitor activity and any other areas that are relevant to the company’s business

• To maintain and control Budget Forecasts and implantation of relevant Budgets for Players, Coaches and Opinion Leaders

• To submit each week activity plans for the following two weeks

• To submit a monthly Report on Promotional, player and Coach activity and forthcoming opportunities

• To attend all meetings and events when requested

• To maintain in safe custody all Company products and property. These remain the property of the Company and must be returned whenever requested

• To assist, when requested, in any tasks or operations, including stock-taking

• To fully comply with the Company’s car policy

• To execute all other tasks as directed by Company Directors, or Sales Manager Racquet Sports


In carrying out these duties the employee will:

• Be mindful at all times of the interests and reputation of the company
• Exercise all reasonable economy where it is appropriate to do so in order to maximise the cost effectiveness of the employees’ contribution to the policies of the company
