A Japanese manufacturer is looking to recruit a dynamic and ambitious Japanese-speaking Sales Engineer based in mainland Europe. This position will be responsible for performing sales activities in designated areas and provide support to the company’s Sales Department; interfacing and coordinating sales-related activities, performing technical analysis and offering product sales solutions for customers.


The ideal candidate should have some engineering background with high communication, negotiation and presentation skills as well as having the ability to work on your own initiative. An understanding of Japanese culture and business level Japanese skills are essential for this role.


TYPE: Independent Contract, full-time

SALARY: up to €80k level, depending on experience

LOCATION: mainland in Europe, work from home


RESPONSIBILITY:

SALES & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

• Develop sales plan, forecast strategy in order to discover potential customers
• Responsible for developing sales leads on ceramic/thin-film related products (HCT)
• Visit existing and/or potential customers and seeks business opportunities
• Build and maintain customer relationships
• Quote pricing, prepare sales contracts for orders obtained
• Prepare sales activity reports and shares it with the management
• Sell and proposes products requiring technical knowledge of engineering
• Handle complaints concerning both billing and products, referring any complaints to designated party for investigation if needed
• Responsible for gathering technical information and share the information with the Product Management
• Perform marketing research to determine the potential buyer and price point, and to gather statistical data on competitors
• Analyse data obtained and prepares reports to share with the management
• Seek potential vendor in order to develop new products
• Lead the planning and implementation of the projects to develop new products
• Coordinate and manage the project/product scope and goals
• Plan and schedule project timeliness and timelines
• Provide direction and support to the project team
• Work closely within the personnel internally for the smooth transactions
• Prepare progress reports and shares with the management

TECHNICAL SERVICE & SUPPORTS

• Demonstrate to potential clients how and why products and services would suit customer needs better than competitor products
• Communicate with clients by face-to-face, phone and/or email regarding products, technical problems and solutions, and any other related issues
• Work closely with customers and production engineers to determine how products or services could be designed or modified to best suit customer needs
• Responsible for answering customers’ questions about products and inquiries about the products
• Answer customers’ technical questions regarding products


OTHER & MISCELLANEOUS

• Seek constant improvement, more efficient and less expensive ways and means in work processes
• Perform special projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management
• Maintain high ethical standards in the work place
• Report all irregular issues and problems to management for solution
• Maintain good communication with management, office staff members and outside contacts
• Comply with all company policies and procedures
• Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working area


IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Native level of European language(e.g. French, Spanish, German, Italian or Swedish) will be required
• Speaking/Reading/Writing in Japanese and English is required at the business level
• Related experience of more than three years in engineering department is preferred
• Frequent business trips will be required
• Holding driving licence will be required
