A growing Japanese trading company is seeking an Accounting Clerk to join their busy Amsterdam office.
You will prepare monthly/annual financial statements, analyse revenues, commissions and expenses.
Business level of fluency in both English and Dutch will be required.
Understanding of Japanese culture and some Japanese- speaking skills will be advantageous.

TYPE: Permanent, full-time



LOCATION: Amsterdam, the Netherlands


・Primary responsibility is to prepare monthly/annual financial statements within required time frame
・Develop internal accounting system based on advice from outsourced accounting company
・Facilitate and complete monthly booking procedures
・Analyse revenues, commissions and expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately on a monthly basis
・Assist with (internal/external) financial and tax audits
・Assist with preparing tax returns and corporate reporting requirements
・Arrange payments with management authorization
・Prepare information for payroll and related arrangements
・Prepare documents for financial transactions
・Tracking payments to internal and external stakeholders
・Recommend financial actions by analysing accounting options


・Bachelor’s or higher degree (preferably in accounting or finance)
・Strong understanding of accounting theory
・3+ years accounting/finance experience: CPA a plus, but not required
・Experience in international trading field is preferred
・Highly detail oriented and organized
・Ability to meet assigned deadlines
・Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the customer always in mind
・Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily directions from managers to accomplish objectives
・Proficient with e-mail and Microsoft Office applications
・Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies
・Challenge on new tasks to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results
・Dutch speaker is preferred (to understand official documents/letters from tax authorities or governments)
・Japanese is not mandatory, but a person who is at least interested in Japanese culture is preferred
・Assimilation and understanding of complex and sensitive information
