Please visit to review our organisation.

Our London office atmosphere is friendly, with a strong focus on team support, working together to achieve sales growth, and offering the same professional and courteous approach to both clients and candidates.

You will have excellent personal qualities – being polite, professional in manner and appearance, and will enjoy the sales aspect of the role. This will include calling both established clients as well as working on business development. There is an administrative element to the duties which requires the ability to write persuasively and accurately in English.

We are open to applicants who have worked in other fields, or who may be looking for retraining, but you must have a strong interest in becoming a consultant. It is essential that your English is of a high standard, as much of what we do is ensuring a good standard of written ability (CV checking, profile writing, client correspondence).

You should also be keen to settle long-term into a role where you can build up good client relationships, and will have the astuteness to understand their recruitment needs.

Knowledge of international business would be advantageous as we work across a wide spectrum of sectors.
A good memory is extremely useful, as is the ability to self-organise according to changing priorities.

Our agency is well-established (more than 30 years), is growing steadily, and is niche in focus, working primarily with companies looking for Japanese-speakers at all levels and all disciplines. Our staff are not exclusively Japanese, but the environment is more likely to suit someone who has had some exposure to Japan, or Japanese business life/culture, and has some understanding of this.

• Native level English – both written and spoken
• Intermediate Japanese, ideally business level.
• Commercial office experience: a sales or customer service background would be highly advantageous
• Strong interpersonal and team-working skills
• Ability to multi-task and work to tight deadlines
• Determined, flexible, resilient, patient
• PC literate (Word, Excel & in-house database)
• Comfortable working within a Japanese business environment
• A background in the JET programme (or similar type of organisation/work experience) could be considered
• Occasional travel

Duties are varied and require good time management.
These include:

• Business Development – visiting universities in UK and Europe and giving presentations
• Recruitment – handling vacancies, selecting and interviewing candidates, writing profiles
• Administration – related to the above

Base: £23K, depending on experience + commission (paid quarterly after probation)
Total approx. £30-35K OTE + annual discretionary performance based bonus
