Mr Hanagata – HR Director

This approach of withholding detailed information about the interview style is aimed at assessing the candidate’s adaptability and creativity. However, it may also present a challenge for the candidate.

To prepare for such an interview, candidates should research both the company and the role as part of their preparation. It’s crucial to be ready to answer general questions and effectively communicate their strengths, regardless of the situation. During the interview, maintaining an honest and adaptable attitude, while striving to understand the interviewer’s intentions is key to success.

For the hiring company, providing basic information (such as the expected duration) helps ease the candidate’s anxiety while also enabling a more comprehensive evaluation through new interview methods. Striking this balance allows for an effective assessment of the candidate’s diverse abilities. Even when aiming to observe natural reactions, offering a subtle hint—such as mentioning a “simple workshop format”—can be quite effective.
