IMPORT CLERK RESPONSIBILITY:
• Assist in staff retention and training efforts
• Communicate with the departmental manager regarding progress and problems or issues
• Maintain a flexible work schedule including outside normal business hours and after hours on call rotation
• Coordinate and track inbound airfreight shipments, ensuring timely customs clearance and delivery
• Prepare and review shipping documents, including invoices, packing lists, and customs declarations
• Communicate with suppliers, airlines, and customs brokers to resolve import related issues and ensure compliance
• Arrange transportation and negotiate rates with carriers for efficient movement of goods
• Perform inventory reconciliation and manage stock levels for imported goods.
• Stay updated on import regulations, customs tariffs, and trade agreements to
• Track and monitor import shipments to ensure on-time delivery and manage any delays or disruptions
• Handle and resolve customer inquiries, complaints, and requests related to airfreight imports
• Assist in evaluating and selecting service providers to optimize supply chain
efficiency.
• Coordinate with finance department to process and reconcile import-related invoices and payments
• Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices in airfreight import operations
• facilitate smooth clearance processes
IMPORT CLERK IDEAL CANDIDATE:
• Has a background in the airfreight industry
• Has a positive and creative mindset
• Speaks Dutch as well as English.
• Is entrepreneurial and enthusiastic
