Transition Officer

A well-established international financial institution is seeking a Transition Officer to join its Transition Department.
The Transition Officer will be responsible for coordinating the onboarding, transition, amendment and closure of client accounts, working closely with clients, internal operations teams, sub-custodians, and other relevant stakeholders.
The ideal candidate should have 1–2 years of banking or custody experience, with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage documentation and multiple stakeholders accurately and efficiently.

Main Responsibilities
• Manage the transition and onboarding of new client accounts, ensuring required information and documentation is received on time
• Communicate with clients and relevant parties to confirm requirements, service levels and transition timelines
• Coordinate the review and completion of legal, fund, tax and internal documentation ahead of the live date
• Arrange account opening with sub-custodians and ensure required documentation and instructions are provided
• Set up client static data accurately within internal systems and obtain required approvals
• Collect KYC and AML onboarding documentation and coordinate internal sign-off before accounts go live
• Prepare service and operational documentation and coordinate operational briefings with relevant teams
• Monitor relevant market and regulatory developments and communicate changes affecting client operations
Ideal Candidate
• 1–2 years of experience within banking and/or custody
• 5 O’ Levels or GCSEs at grade C or above
• Experience in client onboarding, transitions, account opening or related banking operations would be advantageous
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to manage documentation and deadlines accurately
• Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate with clients and internal stakeholders
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and escalate non-standard requirements appropriately
• Japanese language skills would be advantageous
Conditions
Location: London
Salary: up to £40,000 per annum level (depending on experience)
Job Type: permanent, full-time
Working Style: hybrid (within each 4-week period, employees are allowed to work no more than 8 days from home)
Working Hours: 9:00-17:00 from Monday to Friday
Start: negotiable
