In this role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Control (QC), Safety, Health & Environment (SHE), and Chemical Management & Compliance.
The ideal candidate should have strong leadership and problem-solving skills, in-depth automotive industry knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and sustainability.
Dutch language skill will also be required for this role.
TYPE: Initial one-year contract to become permanent
WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday (40 hours a week, core hours 10am-3pm)
SALARY: Depending on Experience, plus company car and holiday allowance
LOCATION: Geleen, Netherlands (hybrid working can be considered after probation)
QESH Manager Main Responsibilities:
Quality Management
● Lead and manage QA/QC processes to ensure compliance with standards relevant for the automotive industry
● Oversee quality audits (internal and external), supplier quality assessments, and customer complaints management
● Ensure product quality meets or exceeds automotive industry standards and customer expectations
● Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and improve overall process efficiency
● Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality and implement corrective actions where needed
Environmental Management
● Lead environmental initiatives to maintain ISO certifications, ensuring full compliance with environmental regulations, including REACH legislation
● Develop and implement strategies to reduce the company's carbon footprint and improve energy efficiency
● Ensure compliance with local, national, and international environmental regulations and promote sustainable practices
● Oversee environmental audits and drive initiatives for waste reduction and resource conservation
Safety and Health Management
● Develop, implement, and monitor SHE policies and procedures in line with industry best practices
● Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and accident investigations to ensure a safe working environment
● Promote a safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to workplace health and safety
● Provide training and development programs to ensure employees are aware of and adhere to safety standards
Chemical Management & Compliance
● Maintain and distribute accurate SDS documentation and manage the full lifecycle of chemicals
● Ensure correct labelling in accordance with GHS and optimize chemical inventory management
● Monitor compliance with chemical legislation (REACH, RoHS, etc.) in applicable regions
● Deliver training and define operational standards for safe chemical handling
● Review and approve new chemicals before introduction, including supplier documentation (SDS, COA, etc.)
Leadership and Coordination
● Act as the central point of contact for all quality, SHE, and chemical compliance matters
● Lead cross-functional teams in achieving compliance, safety, and quality goals
● Plan, coordinate, and execute internal and external audits, including parent company audits
● Ensure corrective and preventive measures are implemented for audit findings and non-conformities
● Work closely with Procurement and Production to align on material quality and compliance standards
QESH Manager Ideal Candidate:
● Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization
● In-depth knowledge of automotive industry standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001, 14001, and 50001)
● Excellent problem-solving skills, particularly in quality and process improvements
● High attention to detail and a proactive approach to safety and environmental management
● Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory bodies
● Commitment to sustainability, safety, and quality excellence
● Knowledge of chemical classification, handling, and compliance (REACH, RoHS, GHS)
● Able to conduct risk assessments and respond accordingly, based on corporate or industry guidelines
● Business level fluency in English and Dutch
