Audit and Tax Lead

In this role you will be responsible for team leadership and ensuring that financial reports - both internal and for external authorities - are always timely, accurate and compliant.
The role will suit someone with up-to-date knowledge of tax legislation in the Netherlands, and Dutch and English skills.
TYPE: Permanent, full-time
SALARY: up to €75k per year (including holiday allowance), depending on experience
LOCATION: Geleen (near Maastricht), with Hybrid Working, 2 days a week at home
Audit and Tax Leader Main Responsibilities:
• Planning, coordinating, and overseeing the annual financial audit, including liaising with external auditors
• Preparing and filing VAT returns (NL, DE, UK), intra-Community supplies (ICL), and CBS statistics in a timely and accurate manner
• Preparing transfer pricing documentation for the corporate income tax return
• Handling WKR administration in collaboration with HR for the payroll tax return
• Supporting monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings and ensuring the correct reconciliation of suspense accounts, asset accounts, and payroll accounts
• Managing, coaching, and supporting Finance Officers on audit, finance, and tax issues
• Serving as an internal auditor and representing Finance as a Key User in SAP HANA and other projects
• Advising internal departments such as Supply Chain and Sales on financial and tax matters
Audit and Tax Leader Ideal Candidate:
• Up-to-date knowledge of relevant tax legislation in the Netherlands
• Familiarity with tax legislation in Germany or the UK will definitely be advantageous
• Experience with SAP 4HANA (FI module) is a plus
• You have a bachelor’s degree in Finance, preferably with a specialization in taxes or accountancy
• You work with a high degree of accuracy and act with integrity, even under time pressure
• You coach and motivate colleagues in an approachable and supportive manner
• You communicate clearly about complex tax and financial topics, to both peers and non-financial colleagues
• You maintain an overview in an environment with multiple deadlines and shifting priorities
• You identify discrepancies, analyse causes, and translate findings into concrete actions
• Communication skills in both Dutch and English
