This role is part of a strategic initiative to strengthen the company’s regulatory capabilities in Europe; one of the most dynamic regions for environmental and chemical regulations.
In this role, you will work closely with the Japan headquarters, take ownership of regulatory initiatives, and play a central role in shaping compliance strategy for the European market. This is an excellent opportunity for a specialist who wants influence, visibility, and autonomy.

TYPE: Full-time role, initially 1 year contract (potential to become permanent)
WORKING HOURS: Monday – Friday 8:30 – 17:00 (30 minutes lunch break) 40 hours per week
SALARY: Around €70,000- 80,000 including holiday allowance and bonus, with flexibility depending on experience
START: ASAP (negotiable)
LOCATION: Amsterdam area, Netherlands (3-4 days working from home is acceptable)
Regulatory Affairs Specialist Main Responsibilities:
● Prepare and submit regulatory documentation for product approvals and renewals
● Monitor and interpret regulatory requirements to ensure compliance
● Coordinate with internal teams to gather necessary information for submissions
● Maintain up-to-date knowledge of global and regional regulations and report to headquarters in Japan
● Communicate with regulatory agencies regarding product submissions and approvals
● Provide regulatory guidance during new product development and throughout the product lifecycle
● Ensure timely and accurate regulatory reporting
● Develop and implement regulatory strategies for product approvals
● Create and submit report to users based on latest internal information
● Collaborate and communicate with headquarters in Japan on a regular basis
● Attend seminars across Europe (approximately one business trip per month is expected)
Key Regulations:
● GIO (German Printing Ink Ordinance) & Swiss Ordinance
● REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals)
Regulatory Affairs Specialist Ideal Candidate:
● At least 5 years of relevant industry experience in regulatory, legal, or compliance-related activities
● Business-level English is mandatory
● Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as chemistry or engineering is preferred
● Solid knowledge of ink is essential
● Experience in compliance administration, including drafting response policies and creating documentation for certification or business expansion
● Ability to read, interpret, and explain chemical/ink-related regulatory documents
● Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-border teams
● Proficiency with IT tools such as Microsoft Office; experience with ERP systems is a plus
