An international bank is looking for a Credit Analyst (Associate / AVP) to join its Düsseldorf office. The bank provides a wide range of corporate banking services to multinational clients and offers an international working environment where English is the primary business language.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to support corporate lending activities for predominantly Asian corporate clients, with a particular focus on Japanese companies. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting credit analysis, preparing credit applications and supporting the ongoing monitoring of the corporate loan portfolio.

Experience with European Central Bank (ECB) credit standards would be advantageous but is not essential.

TYPE: Full-time, initially 1-year contract (with the intention to an indefinite contract) *6 months probation

LOCATION: Düsseldorf, Germany (Hybrid working available)

Main Responsibilities:
• Conduct financial and credit analysis of existing and prospective corporate borrowers
• Assess borrowers' creditworthiness and assign internal credit ratings in accordance with the Bank's credit policies
• Review and adjust system-generated internal credit grades (model grading) based on qualitative and quantitative analysis where appropriate
• Prepare credit applications, annual reviews and periodic credit reports for approval
• Monitor the performance and credit quality of the corporate loan portfolio
• Support quarterly and annual portfolio reviews, including internal rating maintenance and regulatory reporting
• Assist with loan documentation, amendments, refinancing and other credit-related transactions
• Gather and analyse financial statements, management accounts, industry data and other supporting information
• Perform industry, sector and market research to support credit recommendations
• Liaise with Relationship Managers, Risk Management and other internal stakeholders throughout the credit approval process
• Prepare management reports, portfolio analysis and ad hoc credit-related reports
• Ensure compliance with internal credit policies, regulatory requirements and risk management procedures

Ideal Candidate:
• 2-3 years of experience in credit analysis, corporate banking, commercial banking or a related financial services environment
• Experience analysing corporate financial statements and assessing credit risk
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
• Good understanding of corporate lending products and banking operations
• Business-level English communication skills (spoken and written)
• Japanese language skills are not required
• Experience supporting Asian or Japanese corporate clients would be advantageous
• Knowledge of European Central Bank (ECB) credit standards or regulatory frameworks would be beneficial but is not essential
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
