An international animal nutrition company is currently recruiting a Laboratory Technician for its laboratory in Breda.
The company is expanding its animal nutrition and feed additives business across international markets and is strengthening its local laboratory capabilities, including microbiological testing and analysis relating to animal gut health.
The Laboratory Technician will carry out microbiological testing, PCR and DNA-based analysis, product analysis-related laboratory work, and data reporting. The ideal candidate should have a life sciences or food science background with practical laboratory experience, particularly in microbiology, PCR testing and Food/Feed hygiene.

Main Responsibilities:
• Conduct microbiological testing related to animal nutrition and feed additive products
• Perform PCR testing and DNA-based laboratory analysis
• Carry out fermentation-related laboratory work and testing
• Support laboratory analysis relating to animal gut microbiota
• Prepare samples, conduct laboratory procedures and accurately record test results
• Analyse laboratory data and prepare reports and technical documentation
• Maintain appropriate laboratory procedures, hygiene standards and records
• Support the development and day-to-day operation of the company's newly established laboratory
Ideal Candidate:
• Degree or equivalent educational background in Life Sciences, Microbiology, Food Science, Food Hygiene, Animal Science, Veterinary Science or a related field
• Approximately 3 years' relevant laboratory experience
• Hands-on experience with microbiological testing
• Practical experience with PCR testing and DNA analysis
• Strong attention to detail and ability to record and analyse experimental data accurately
• Business level of fluency in English
• Dutch language skills are not required
• Computer skills to use Windows, Word, Excel, PPT, email, etc.
• Math skills up to logarithmic calculation
Condition:
• Location: Breda, the Netherlands
• Working Style: Hybrid, with a minimum of 3 days per week working in the laboratory
• Salary: €50-60k per annum depending on experience; no bonus scheme
• Job Type: initially 1 year contract (there is potential to become permanent)
• Working Hours: approximately 9:00–16:00 *TBC
• Start: January 2027 onwards
• Benefits: TBC
