A Japanese manufacturer is currently recruiting a Finance Manager to work in their Surrey office.
In this role, you will be responsible for the company's comprehensive financial and accounting duties by planning and directing relative activities, personally or through subordinate supervisors.
The ideal candidate should have strong financial management skills, experience in accounting, and excellent analytical capabilities.
Business level fluency in both English and Japanese is required for this role.

Finance Manager Main Responsibilities:
● Maintain an efficient financial and accounting department
● Manage the regular financial and accounting duties within the Finance Department
● Reach and provide support to the Managing Director and the management team, through appropriate financial analysis as well as business analysis
● Provide financial considerations for the financial implications of company decision-making prior to proceeding
● Ensure that financial practices are in line with all statutory legislation and regulations
● Plan and direct the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to financial management, accounting, and other pertinent finance matters
● Manage the company's financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems; supervising the maintenance of accurate sales ledger, purchase ledger and nominal ledger
● Ensure that statistical reports necessary for the company's reporting needs are produced according to the appropriate timescales required
● Manage financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems through developing financial management mechanisms that minimise financial risk
● Direct the installation and maintenance of accounting records to show receipts and expenditures
● Maintain the requisite records of imports and exports and ensure compliance with legal requirements
● Ensure all monetary transactions are in accordance with legal contracts
● Direct the installation and maintenance of new accounting, payroll, inventory, property, and other related procedures and controls
● Provide the management team with accurate financial information, management accounts and data analysis
● Advise the Managing Director on cashflow strategies and liaise with banks
● Interpreting financial information and data, and analysing the ongoing profitability of all ventures
● Ensure that strong financial controls and procedures are in place
● Monthly bank reconciliations and management of tax reporting and compliance
● Coordinate preparation of external audit materials and external financial reporting
● Liaising with auditors and external accounting service agencies
● Prepare regularly a cash flow forecast and monthly budget of all accounts payable
● Establish system controls for new financial systems and develop procedures
● Provide back-up for the provision and administration of the company pension fund
● Identify, investigate, and analyse potential improvements

Finance Manager Ideal Candidate:
● Minimum 3 years of previous experience in a similar role required
● Qualifications: Ideally fully qualified in AAT, ACCA, CIMA or recognised equivalent Part qualified also considered
● ERP Familiarity with SAP Business One is highly desirable
● In-depth knowledge of financial management and accounting practices
● Ability to develop financial management strategies
● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
● Proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting tools
● Experience in working with Japanese financial practices
● Familiarity with UK statutory legislation regarding finance
● Ability to liaise with external auditors and financial institutions
● Business level fluency in both English and Japanese
