An expanding British consulting firm is seeking a Business Development Director for their Tokyo office.
In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, engaging and signing up new clients, and helping their business by developing and supporting the execution of global innovation and investment strategies.

The ideal candidate should have 5+ years of B2B sales experience and business level fluency in both English and Japanese.

Business Development Director Main Responsibilities:
● Identifying, engaging and signing up new clients
● Developing and supporting the execution of global innovation and investment strategies
● Building relationships with top global Japanese corporates
● Understanding clients' growth plans for overseas markets
● Discussing in-market research, innovation and business development support services
● Engaging with client’s post-sale
● Formulating comprehensive support proposals
● Closing deals to attain sales targets
● Guiding teammates with considerable experience

Business Development Director Ideal Candidate:
● 5+ years of B2B sales experience
● 2 years of consulting experience
● Business level fluency in both English and Japanese
● Expertise in developing and managing professional relationships
● Deep understanding of the Japanese business ecosystem
● Understanding of the innovation, venture capital and tech environment
● Interest in technology, sustainability and international business
● Proven track record in building and managing a high-value pipeline
● Ability to navigate complex corporate structures
● Experience in relevant technology sectors such as software, renewables, MedTech & life sciences, electronics
● Experience in building complex proposals
