A foreign bank based in London is seeking an Expense Admin Officer.
You will be responsible for supporting expense administration, payroll- and tax-related matters, and governance processes within the General Affairs Department.
The ideal candidate will have solid experience in expense and accounting administration within a Japanese company and be able to support budgeting, regulatory compliance, and expatriate-related administration accurately and reliably.

Key Responsibilities:
• Preparing expense tickets and checking expense approvals against budgets and authorisation levels
• Monitoring expense payment results and investigating queries or discrepancies
• Supporting branch budget operations, including: Budget preparation, Budget forecasting, Budget reporting, Monitoring expense budgets
• Supporting regulatory and governance-related matters, including: Senior Managers Regime, Certification Regime, Branch governance structure, Policies and Procedures updates, Head Office reporting
• Supporting tax services for expatriate staff under the instruction of the Assistant Manager, including preparation of expatriate tax returns and PSA/dispensation processes
• Maintaining and updating internal manuals and policies, such as: Operating Expenses Manual, Payroll Manual, Governance and Internal Control policies
• Providing administrative and record-keeping support to expatriate staff
• Providing cover for other team members within the department as required
• Supporting ad-hoc General Affairs duties, including contract management, meeting arrangements, attendance at meetings, and minute taking
• Undertaking other reasonable duties as required by management

Ideal Candidate:
• More than 4-5 years’ experience in accounting and/or expense administration within a Japanese company
• 3-5+ years’ experience in expense and accounting administration roles
• Bookkeeping and/or accounting qualification or equivalent practical experience
• Experience working in either Japanese or English language business environments
• Business level of English and Japanese
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
