An international organisation specialising in trade and investment promotion is seeking a Senior Project Manager – International Business Development & Investment Attraction to join its team in Tokyo.
The role will support government clients, including trade promotion agencies, economic development organisations and investment promotion agencies, with trade delegations and investment promotion programmes in Japan. You will identify and engage Japanese companies, arrange business meetings and site visits, and support foreign government investment programmes.
The ideal candidate should have 5–8 years of experience in trade promotion and FDI attraction, with a strong understanding of the Japanese business environment and experience supporting foreign government or government-related investment promotion activities.

Main Responsibilities
• Support government clients with trade delegations and investment promotion programmes in Japan
• Identify and approach Japanese companies and arrange B2B meetings, site visits and business introductions
• Represent foreign government investment agencies in identifying and engaging potential Japanese investors
• Support the FDI process from lead generation through investment and post-investment support
• Plan and support investment and trade missions to Japan
• Accompany international delegations, providing local business and cultural guidance and interpretation support
• Prepare trade and industry reports in English and communicate with government and business stakeholders

Ideal Candidate
• 5–8 years of experience in trade promotion and FDI attraction
• Proven experience supporting foreign government or government-related investment promotion, particularly in attracting Japanese companies for overseas investment
• Strong understanding of the Japanese business environment and corporate culture
• Full professional proficiency in both Japanese and English
• Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to quickly understand new industries and communicate information effectively
• Strong interest in international trade promotion, investment attraction and business development

Conditions
• Location: Tokyo, Japan
• Working Style: Hybrid
• Salary: ¥8,500,000–¥10,000,000, depending on experience
• Job Type: Permanent, full-time
• Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am–6:00pm
• Start: Negotiable
