A Japanese manufacturing company in Manchester is currently recruiting a Sales and Technical Support Specialist to support its medical equipment business in the UK and European markets.
The Sales and Technical Support Specialist will be responsible for managing distributor relationships, supporting sales activities, and providing technical coordination for medical imaging equipment. The role focuses on distributor management rather than direct customer sales, with opportunities to work with healthcare providers including NHS-related organisations.
The ideal candidate should have experience in medical, ophthalmology, healthcare technology, or imaging software, together with strong communication skills and an interest in developing a long-term career in technical sales.

Main Responsibilities
• Manage and develop relationships with distributors across the UK and European markets
• Promote products and support sales activities through distributor networks
• Work closely with distributors to identify opportunities and improve sales performance
• Coordinate technical support activities with internal technical teams
• Support troubleshooting processes and escalate complex technical issues when required
• Attend exhibitions and occasionally customer or distributor visits to support business development
• Collaborate with the Japan technical team on advanced technical issues when necessary
• Monitor market feedback and contribute to future sales strategies
Ideal Candidate
• Experience in medical, ophthalmology, healthcare technology, or related industries preferred
• Knowledge of medical imaging software would be advantageous
• Experience in technical sales, distributor management, or customer support preferred
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Able to work collaboratively with distributors, technical teams, and internal stakeholders
• Interested in developing expertise through product training and hands-on learning
• Willingness to travel occasionally within the UK and Europe
• Strong interest in building a long-term career within an international manufacturing company
Conditions

• Working Style: office based
• Salary: up to £50,000 per annum depending on experience + bonus
• Job Type: permanent, full-time, 6-month probation period
• Working Hours: 9:00-17:00 from Monday to Friday
• Start: negotiable
