Japanese speaking Trainee Investor Relationship Manager

A small, but established company that specialise in researching and advising on Japanese equities, and regulated by the FCA, are looking to expand their business. The company are seeking a trainee to help their sales department. You will work with and be trained every step of the way by shadowing experienced financial professionals within a team oriented and rewarding professional environment. No previous equity research related experience is necessary. Native fluency in English and strong communication skills are a must, and excellent Japanese speaking skills would be advantageous.

You will be exposed to a high level business environment with responsibility from an early stage. This will be an excellent chance to develop your career in the finance and equity research industry, gain new skills, and receive on-the-job training.

Salary: £25k per year, A generous bonus will be considered once you develop sufficient skills and contribute to the company
Location: Burton-upon-Trent, near Derby. The first year will be completely onsite training. Remote work will be applied once you finish this year and develop sufficient skillsets.
Hours: Monday – Friday, 07.00 – 16.30
Start: ASAP

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Short term
• Gain an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the company by shadowing & supporting the Director

Long term
• Maintain strong relationships and develop new relationships with global institutional investors and Japanese corporations, promoting the company & its ideas.
• You will also work with the Business development sales teams to further the company’s outreach

IDEAL CANDIDATE:
• Strong verbal & written English, Japanese communication skills a plus!
• Strong organisational & Time Management skills
• Numerical literacy
• The ability to work cooperatively in a small team & take on responsibility at an early stage
• Being self-motivated, and a positive and open attitude & strong work ethic
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to rapidly learn & understand new tasks presented
• Willingness to share new idea and learning
• University degree. Minimum 2:1
• Confident User in Excel & PowerPoint
