You will be reacting to breaking news and working at the forefront of international news. Your work will directly affect how the stories are told in Japan.
Experience and knowledge of news and broadcasting is helpful, but willingness and ability to learn will go a long way, coupled with an ability to think creatively about how to make a good visual news story.
A strong interest in current affairs is essential, organisational skills and an ability to thoroughly research a subject are important. As work will involve travelling in Europe, Africa and the Middle East, proficiency in one or more languages would be advantageous. Japanese language skill is necessary and the ability to think about what would interest a Japanese audience is crucial.
