In this role, you will be responsible for leading client execution coverage and revenue growth for Japanese cash equities, expanding a portfolio of European institutional clients, and operating as a ‘player-coach’.
The ideal candidate should have 6+ years of front-office experience, and execution expertise in Japanese cash equities and the ability to cultivate client relationships.

TYPE: Starts from 1 year fixed-term contract – with potential for extension
WORKING HOURS: 40 hours from Monday to Friday
SALARY: Up to €100k, depending on experience

LOCATION: Amsterdam, Netherlands (Hybrid with 4 days minimum in office for foreseeable future)
Equity Sales Trader Main Responsibilities:
● Own and expand a portfolio of European institutional clients (asset managers, hedge funds, pensions, etc.) acting as front-line coverage lead for Japan cash equities
● Leverage an existing, active network of buy-side decision-makers to originate and grow trading flow; develop and execute account plans to increase wallet share
● Price, execute, and oversee agency execution in Japanese equities with strong judgment on liquidity, market impact, volatility, and auction dynamics; ensure best execution outcomes
● Provide timely market insight, flow colour, and trade ideas to clients; translate Japan market drivers (macro/sector/index flows) into actionable client messaging
● Own post-trade integrity (allocations/booking follow-up), resolve breaks efficiently, and set a high standard for client service
● Partner closely with Japan-based stakeholders and internal teams to ensure seamless client delivery and effective escalation routes
● Help define scalable desk workflows (coverage cadence, prioritisation, reporting templates, escalation playbooks) appropriate for a small, growing team
● Maintain strong market conduct discipline; ensure adherence to internal policies and applicable regulatory standards and escalate issues proactively
Equity Sales Trader Ideal Candidate:
● Proven front-office experience (typically 6–10+ years) in cash equities sales trading / agency trading / execution coverage within a regulated financial institution
● Ability to own senior client relationships and drive flow
● Existing connections with European institutional investors
● Strong knowledge of equities market structure, liquidity, and execution strategy
● Excellent communication skills and executive presence
● High integrity and strong risk awareness
● Connections with European institutional investors
● Business level fluency in English
● Fluency in additional European languages would be advantageous
