A global semiconductor distributor is seeking an experienced Purchasing / Supply Chain Manager for its Munich office.
The successful candidate will lead purchasing and supply chain operations while remaining actively involved in day-to-day activities.
The role also offers the opportunity to improve team processes, support multiple European locations and contribute to the future integration of another European operation.

Main Responsibilities:
You will lead purchasing and supply chain activities for both local European business and Japanese-related operations, combining hands-on operational responsibilities with team and process management.
• Lead purchasing operations, including purchase order placement in SAP and delivery follow-up
• Manage suppliers in coordination with the Product Management team
• Monitor stock levels, delivery schedules and buffer stock based on customer demand
• Manage supplier documentation and regulatory compliance requirements
• Coordinate product change notifications through the company’s global systems
• Operate and improve SAP, supply chain management systems and supplier portals
• Support the implementation of digital tools, including SCM systems and robotic process automation
• Coordinate EDI connections with suppliers in cooperation with European and headquarters IT teams
• Manage freight forwarders and carriers, including commercial condition negotiations
• Oversee third-party warehouses in Germany, Malaysia, Hong Kong and other locations
• Coordinate import and export activities with warehouse, customs and quality teams
• Manage and improve workflows across the Munich and Ingolstadt purchasing teams
• Support the future integration and management of another European purchasing operation
• Report operational progress, issues and performance to the supervisor
Ideal Candidate:
Required
• Professional experience in purchasing or supply chain management
• Experience in purchase ordering, delivery control, inventory management or warehouse operations
• Practical experience using SAP and Microsoft Office
• Experience managing or improving operational processes
• Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders
• Fluent written and spoken English
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proactive approach with a high level of responsibility
• University degree, completed commercial training or a comparable qualification
• Ability to work effectively within an international team

• Purchasing or supply chain experience within the semiconductor or electronic components industry
• Experience working for a semiconductor distributor
• Previous team management or team leadership experience
• Experience managing international or multi-location teams
• Experience with external warehouses, freight forwarders and import/export operations
• Experience implementing EDI, SCM systems or automation tools
• German, Japanese or French language skills
• Flexibility to travel between Munich and Ingolstadt
• Experience supporting organisational integration or cross-border process improvement
