In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the organization’s HR functions and ensuring smooth, compliant operations across all aspects of human resources management and general administration for the German branch.

HR Manager Main Responsibilities:
HR
● Administer and execute HR programs such as compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary actions, disputes, investigations, performance management, productivity, recognition, morale, occupational health and safety, and training and development
● Ensure compliance with local employment laws and regulations; review policies and practices to maintain compliance
● Stay informed about trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in HR, talent management, and employment law
● Assist international employees with expatriate assignments and related HR matters
● Manage the hiring process for open positions, including collaborating with branch and departmental managers to define required skills and competencies
● Conduct or facilitate background checks and employee eligibility verifications
● Address employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex or sensitive issues as needed
● Oversee new hire orientation
General Administration
● Serve as the main contact point for shared office management and local vendors (including office administration, facilities, and service coordination)
● Communicate and assist with contract renewals with local vendors (office services, IT support, memberships, etc.)
● Consolidate local invoices and coordinate with the UK accounting team (including payments and information sharing)
● Manage receipt and initial handling of mail and official notifications; organize and digitally manage related documents
● Provide concise summaries in English or Japanese of the contents of the German official letter/notice for internal use as necessary
● Support responses to information requests and audits from German authorities, including collecting necessary documents and acting as a liaison with the UK
● Support organizing and managing digital records of various contracts, invoices, and documents related to authorities as needed
● Perform other duties as assigned, including general administrative tasks
HR Manager Ideal Candidate:
● +3years HR experience in Germany
● Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations and payroll
● Business level English and advanced German
● Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
● Strong time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
● Ability to prioritize tasks effectively
● Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
● Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
● Working in a Japanese companies would be advantageous
● Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred
