A Japanese school is currently recruiting a Japanese Chef in Buckinghamshire.
In this role you will be responsible for preparation of meals, assisting the head chef with duties in ordering, maintenance, and cleaning of the kitchen & dining hall in accordance with company standards and statutory regulations.
They are looking for a qualified chef with experience of Japanese cuisine including handling a wide range of raw fish and other ingredients, managing food stock, maintaining the highest hygiene standards, and working in a team of three chefs to provide full board to staff and boarding students during term time, and lunches during the school holidays.

JAPANESE CHEF MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assists in developing daily, seasonal, and themed menu items for Japanese and other international students
• Maintain food preparation handling and correct storage standards
• Prepare the agreed menu specifications to the highest standards
• Ensure compliance with all UK health & safety and hygiene laws and regulations.
• Food allergy awareness
• To ensure company procedures are adhered to, according to the operations manual, including temperature charts and bookwork
• To help maintain a 5-star (VERY GOOD) Food Standard Agency hygiene rating
• Management of kitchen porters when on duty
• Responsible for the delivery of foods, ensuring an acceptable standard, distributed to correct storage areas, and maintaining good stock rotation when on kitchen duty
• Accommodate customers’ dietary needs and prepare dishes accordingly
• Always interact with customers in a friendly and helpful manner
• To undertake any other reasonable duty as requested by management
• Always maintain the highest standards of safeguarding

JAPANESE CHEF IDEAL CANDIDATE:
• Certified chef
• 3+ years' experience working as a Japanese chef
• Understanding food safety standards 
• Availability to work five days within a seven-day weekly rota
• Some understanding of Japanese culture and Japanese language would be advantageous
