Social Media Strategy Intern details

  • Contract Type: Internship, part-time (20-hours a week)
  • Salary: Real Living Wage in London (£13.85ph) + competition prize (£300 Amazon Voucher)

Key Responsibilities

  • Social Media Strategy Development
    • Create a short/mid-terms social media strategy, incorporating a range of platforms including LinkedIn, YouTube, and the CPA website
    • Develop and oversee the content calendar, ensuring timely posting and consistent brand voice
    • Monitor trends, competitor activities, and industry insights to keep strategies innovative and relevant
    • Track, analyse, and report on performance metrics
    • Ensure social media branding is aligned with the goals and messaging of the CPA brand
  • YouTube Content Support
    • Edit and prepare short-form and long-form video content for YouTube 
    • Upload, schedule and optimise videos with SEO-friendly titles, tags, and thumbnails
    • Maintain a consistent publishing schedule in line with brand guidelines
    • Suggest new content ideas and formats based on platform trends and audience feedback
  • LinkedIn Support
    • Assist in the creation and scheduling of content tailored to the company’s professional audience
    • Edit and repurpose YouTube clips into LinkedIn-friendly video or image posts
    • Research trends and hashtags relevant to the industry to optimise reach and visibility
  • General Social Media Support
    • Provide basic graphic design assistance using Canva or similar tools
    • Support internal communication of content performance and analytics reports
    • Assist with organising and archiving raw and edited video assets
  • Administrative & Creative Workflow
    • Coordinate with internal teams and external collaborators to gather assets and approvals
    • Ensure all video and social content complies with brand and copyright standards
    • Assist with captioning and accessibility improvements on video content
    • Provide basic research into competitor content and platform algorithm changes

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Currently enrolled at a UK university, postgraduate institution, or specialist college, or having graduated within the last 5 years.
  • Basic experience with video editing software (e.g. Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, etc.)
  • Familiarity with YouTube and LinkedIn content formats, audiences, and engagement tactics
  • Creative mindset with attention to visual and written detail
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines across multiple projects
  • Excellent written communication skills in English
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience with Canva, Notion, or content calendar tools is a plus
  • Interest in Japanese culture, entertainment, or international business is beneficial
  • Knowledge of Japanese language is beneficial

Social Media Strategy Competition Application Guidelines

1. Organiser

  • This competition is organised by Centre People Appointments Ltd (registered office: London, UK; hereinafter referred to as “the Company”).

2. Eligibility

  • Students aged 18 or over (enrolled at a university, postgraduate institution, or vocational school) or graduated within the last 5 years from a higher education institution.
  • Must have the legal right to work in the UK (valid visa allowed to work in the UK, permanent residency, or citizenship).
  • Must be able to attend and work at the Centre People London office (EC2V 6EE) during the internship period (working days and times to be agreed within the framework of 20 hours per week).
    *Employees of the Company and their immediate family members are not eligible to apply.

3. Competition Brief

  • Planning and execution of short to mid-term social media strategies and operational plans for the Company’s brand.
  • Prior to application, applicants must read and check the Company’s business activities and strategies, mid- to long-term plans and objectives, and reflect these elements in their proposed plan.
  • Submissions must be the applicant’s own original work and must not infringe any third-party rights.

5. Selection Process

  • First Stage (via Google form): shortlisted applicants will be invited to create strategy & presentation, submit by Mon 10th November at 18:00 GMT
  • Second Stage (Contents & Strategy Plans): Shortlisted applicant will be notified by Mon 17th November at 18:00 GMT, and invited for the Final Stage (Q&A session & interview) on Wednesday 26th November
  • The winner will be selected and notified by Wednesday 3rd December by 18:00 GMT

6. Prizes & Internship

  • Winner
    • A paid internship of up to six months (part-time, approximately 20 hours per week, paid at the Real Living Wage in London of £13.85/hour).
    • The total value of the prize is approximately £7,500. This figure includes:
      • Base pay (gross salary) calculated at 20 hours per week for up to six months at the Real Living Wage in London (£13.85/hour);
      • Employer’s statutory on-costs, including National Insurance Contributions, pension contributions where applicable, and pro-rated statutory holiday pay.
    • The exact amount may vary depending on final contractual terms, pension eligibility, and applicable National Insurance thresholds.
    • Terms of employment, pay, and rights and obligations will be set out in a separate employment contract.
    • Additional prizes:
      • Amazon Gift Voucher (£300)
      • LinkedIn recommendation and written reference from the Managing Director

7. Intellectual Property

  • Copyright of submitted works remains with the applicant.
  • The Company shall obtain the right to use and publish submitted works, free of charge and on a non-exclusive basis, for the purposes of publicity and recruitment.
  • Rights to any work produced during the internship shall, in principle, belong to the Company.

8. Data Protection

  • The Company will use applicants’ personal information solely for the purposes of administering this competition and recruitment.
  • Personal data will be securely managed in accordance with GDPR and related legislation and deleted within six months of the competition’s conclusion.

9. Limitation of Liability

  • The Company reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition in the event of force majeure (natural disasters, communication failures, changes in law, etc.).
  • Applicants who submit false information, engage in misconduct, or breach these guidelines will be disqualified.

10. Governing Law

  • These Application Guidelines shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of the United Kingdom shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
